When will this end????

Winter is back with a vengeance.  The sun is shining but with the wind chill today it feels something like -42C (for my American Friends not sure in F)...too cold for this chick!  Had to work until 7:00 last night and then back in this morning at
7:30 - 1:45....inventory sucks!  But I do get time off later on!  I will take it when the weather is warmer, MUCH WARMER!
One of the bridges in Daytona Beach!  Notice NO WINTER COAT!
Las Vegas....feel a little short compared to these two guys who tried to pick me up!  LOL

In just 13 days I'll be on my way to Las Vegas, 5:30 PM flight!  Sooooooooooooooo looking forward to a week off and meeting up with Jackie & John.  Margaritaville HERE I COME!

Best Bar in Vegas!  Not that I would know anything about that!

Next trip should be in June and attending Lightfair International!  I`ve already advised my boss I wanted to go and tentatively scheduled it into my calendar.

LIGHTFAIR® International (LFI®), the world’s largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference, will take place June 1-5, 2014 in Las Vegas at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

With approximately two million square feet of exhibit space, the Las Vegas Convention Center affords LFI 2014 exhibitors and attendees a venue well-suited to the unique requirements of its trade show and conference within its South Halls.  In Las Vegas, the LFI 2012 trade show floor covered a record 206,800 net square feet and attendance broke all previous records with 24,121 professional attendees registered.

LIGHTFAIR International is the world’s largest annual commercial and architectural lighting trade show and conference and is sponsored by the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) and the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES).
Last time I went to Lightfair, (Philadelphia)it was with this character!  We found this watering hole and spent a little time there...ok, maybe a little more than that! :)

Love Park, John F. Kennedy Plaza, Philadelphia

A favorite destination for tourists and locals alike, John F. Kennedy Plaza gets its famed nickname “LOVE Park” due to its famous sculpture.
Located near City Hall, LOVE Park serves as the grand entrance to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
The plaza, designed by famed City Planner Edmond Bacon, father of actor Kevin Bacon, was originally constructed over an underground parking garage in 1965. The plaza expanded in 1969 with the addition of beautifully curved granite steps and a majestic fountain.
Robert Indiana’s iconic LOVE statue was not installed until the bicentennial in 1976, only to be removed two years later. Due to its immense popularity, the sculpture was purchased by the Chairman of the Philadelphia Art Commission, F. Eugene Dixon, Jr., and permanently returned to the plaza.

It`s been an interesting week.  Received from news from Jackie & John in regards to our friends in Mexico (who reside in Indiana) Bill & Carol.  Bill has been sick and in the hospital....but continues to improve.  Miss them and hope all turns out ok. Speedy recovery Bill!  Be safe driving in Mazatlan Carol!
Our friends Bill & Carol

I spent a considerable amount of time talking with my sister this week.  Appears we were both kinda thinking the same thing...Where is our brother!  Well upon searching the internet one evening, I managed to locate him, and his family.  I haven`t spoken with my brother Gerry yet, but you can bet I plan to.  I always knew I was his favourite sister!  I am hoping to have pics soon that I can post on my blog.  I have lots of family now and I am so excited.  Always knew they were out there but didn`t know how to find them.

My brother Gerry and his late wife Janet.

  1. Sunshine and low 60s (16) here in Carlsbad. John is out golfing!

    1. -23C here and that's NOT counting the wind chill. No way in HELL I'm going any place but to work and back in these temps. Weatherman calling for +12 and +13 on Saturday and Sunday but I think that is total BS. Hugs to you both...looking forward to seeing you in just over a week! Dear God...please make it warm!
