Where did the year go??

We've been so busy that I completely forgot about my blog.  So many things happening the hours and days seem to slip by so quickly.  We had a beautiful vacation in October, have spent numerous weekends with family and friends.  Now we're ready for another Christmas.

I'm on vacation, hubby is still working. He now has a new job and one that he is really enjoying...makes a big difference when you actually enjoy going to work again! My work has been busy, working for both Calgary and Ontario.  Finally things are looking like they will pick up in the gas and oil industry in Alberta but it will take a long time to recover.

We've managed to get a couple of rooms at home painted and complete HVAC system installed.  We couldn't be happier with home.  Amazing how some things are just meant to be.  Here are a couple of pics.

Have our vacation booked for October 2017....absolutely love Vacation International and Intervol.  The opportunities for travel (along with the perks) are amazing.  

Want to wish all our friends and family a very Merry Christmas and all the best for 2017!  It's going to be a fantastic year for us.  Who knows...there may even be a "Save the Date" announcement shortly!

Dreary Weather!

Was beautiful yesterday.  Finally got all the gardens cleaned up, hubby moved the lawn!  Spent the entire day outside....love it! Today raining and miserable and cool!

New roof was done on Friday....the roofers did a great job!  We went with one specific company because they were the only ones who put "transferable warranty" on the paperwork.  Will be a great selling feature.

Two rooms need to be carpeted along with the stairs....minor things to do in the basement and clean out my clothes closet....then I can consider this place done.  

I haven't taken any pics lately but will take some soon of the gardens and post.  Plain and simple but tasteful.

Been a while!

It's been a while since I posted anything.  We've been very busy with the house and things are almost completed.  Need to do some carpeting and finish organising the lower deck (basement).
Now we need a new roof!  Let me tell you that will not be a cheap job.  Think it will be done by someone in about three weeks.

New window, blinds, paint...this room still needs carpet!

The master....needs something on the wall and a bit more organisation...perhaps carpet in the future.

The en suite....this whole room is basically new...floor tiles, paint, vanity, toilet, mirror, shower door.  I love this room.

That's about it for now.  I hear we are supposed to get more nasty weather here in ON....OMG, will spring ever come?

Renovations Continue!

We had a fantastic time on our vacation during the Christmas season in Daytona Beach.  Booked into one place, it didn't meet my (our)standards, left there and booked into Ocean Court.  Wonderful place and very friendly people.  They had a party Christmas eve and the entire place was invited.  Plenty of food and drinks for everyone.  Great time.  Here are some pics of our vacation.

Driving back was great until we got to Erie, PA....snow, vehicles off the road, jack knifed tractor trailers.....and me sitting in the passenger seat scared to bits!  Left DB 6:00 AM on Jan 1 and arrived in B'ville 1:30 AM.  God bless hubby for driving and keeping us safe.

The renovations continue but I can see the end in sight.  Still have to get the windows in, door replaced, shower door in ensuite to be installed, painting to complete and so on!  Here are some pics....reminder to me I guess of what it looked like before and what it looks like now.
